Weddings Trends for 2024

As part of their FW takeover

Historic Royal Palaces has compiled their predictions for the biggest luxury trends set to take the wedding world by storm in 2024.

Trust us, you’ll be seeing these trends all over your Instagram feed and Pinterest boards in the next few months – you heard it here first!

Extravagant Wedding Cakes

“2024 is all about the cake as the showstopper and centre piece with couples opting for more and more elaborate ways to display the cake,” says Yevnig. “A hanging chandelier cake, cascading design of macarons and lavish dessert tables are all ways to guarantee the WOW factor!”

Guests will also be expecting quality behind the beauty of the day’s special touches, too. “A wedding cake is no longer just about style; it’s got to stand the taste test too. Flavour combinations such as pistachio and rose or salted caramel and dolce de leche just ooze luxury and indulgence and will be really popular,” Yevnig explains.

Personalised and Bespoke Wedding Details

Couples will be looking more than ever for that all important personalised touch to their special day, running throughout the organisation of the event from a one-of-a-kind venue setting to the smallest touches.

“Detailed and intimate will definitely be a big trend in 2024,” Vaishali of Ananya Cards predicts.

“Couples want to add details that are both significant and meaningful to them and their guests, expressing their individuality while ensuring guests can connect with the experience of the day.”

Yevnig of Unique Cakes by Yevnig also predicts a rise in bespoke touches for 2024; “Cakes with hand painted elements using edible paint, such as written messages in calligraphy or beautiful floral designs will be on trend, giving artistic flair.”

We’ve also seen a big uptake in interest in bespoke wedding rings, too.

Eco-Friendly Wedding Invitations

With society ever-more eco-conscious, couples will be thinking of ways to play their part, starting with their wedding invitations.

Vaishali explains: “Whether by using recycled paper, replanting trees as a wedding favour or using locally sourced produce, couples will be demanding venues and suppliers alike to consider alternative solutions that meet their green needs. Soy and vegetable-based inks can be used for printing, while upcycling and eliminating plastic use can ensure we sustain the planet while still enjoying a luxurious wedding!”

Wedding Colour Trends for 2024

Natural colours and metallics will be most popular when it comes to 2024’s wedding colour schemes; we’re thinking colours such as mint – a breath of fresh air and optimism – as well as peachy creams and blushes.

Both Yevnig and Vaishali see a trend for deep pink and cassis, oozing elegance and glamour; the perfect accompaniment to a palace setting.

Yevnig adds, “Metallic detailing is also hugely popular. Again this luxe trend is all about abundance – so a simple natural colour with extravagant metallic flourishes.”
